The Sir Bertram Stevens Institute exists because a free nation cannot thrive on managerial caution alone. Australia too often feels leaderless in spirit, uncertain of its inheritance, and unwilling to defend what made it strong. We believe that can be reversed.
We believe New South Wales can again produce public leaders with courage, conviction and leadership.
We believe in the institutions of a free and prosperous society: parliamentary democracy, the rule of law, free enterprise, individual liberties, family, and national cohesion.
These are not relics of the past to be apologised for or forgotten. They are the achievements of Western civilisation that need to be defended, strengthened, and handed on to the next generation.
Our mission is not passive, narrow, or academic. It is formative. It is strategic. It is practical. We are working to build a stronger conservative movement, a more serious public debate, and a new generation of Australians capable of leadership.
